The young people again made Christingles and learnt about their symbolism. It is sobering to remember at Jesus' birth that the light of the world came to die and shed his blood.

Carol Service (14th December 2008)
In an eclectic mix of tastes and styles, we used 'Open the Book' readings with modern and traditional music to celebrate Jesus' birth. Toby was our 'zooming star' and was the 'star' of the service! All of this in a candlelit setting!

We combined in our service, CMS' 'Share the Light' initiative and the dedication of Nan's Paschal Candle to celebrate her 90 birthday the year before. Many of us shared candles with friends as a symbol that we were going to pray for them for the next church year.

Light & Bright Party (31st October 2008)
This year, we combined with the other churches in Shipley to have two Bright Parties running simultaneously in Northcliffe Church and St Peter's Church, but using the expertise of St Margaret's family and other Christians. As usual it was a mixture of fun, mayhem and a great message! More than anything, it kept our children safe and thinking about good things not bad.

Our young people organised another Talent Show for us all.

The assorted talent of St Margaret's was on show: from talking dogs to cross dressing ex Churchwardens - all were on display. Our three judges: Sam, Boothy and Angie would have made Simon Cowell blush. The real winner were the young people who raised funds for their trip to Soul Survivor and one of their number to go on an American exchange to the Diocese of SW Virginia.
