Partnership with Fountains Church, and Appointment of Rev'd Nathanael Poole as our minister!

We are pleased to announce some exciting and important developments in the life of St Margaret's Church. St Margaret's and Fountains Church Bradford have agreed a 3-year partnership to support the life and mission of St Margaret's Church, Frizinghall and to multiply the impact of Fountains Church through involvement in the kinds of outreach opportunities that there are in the parish of Frizinghall.

One important part of the partnership is the appointment of Rev'd Nathanael Poole as Interim Minister of St Margaret's (half-time) as well as continuing (half-time) as Associate Minister of Fountains Church.

Ministers aren't superheroes of course. But we're really looking forward to when Nathanael, his wife Lauren, and children Ivy (4) and Zeke (2) swoop in! A couple of messages from them are just below. The service of licensing for Nathanael and to mark the start of the partnership with Fountains is planned for Sunday 5th December (4.30pm at Fountains, then 7pm at St Margaret's). More details to follow.

"We're really looking forward to joining the church family at St Margaret's. It's strange that when we first visited Bradford and Great Horton, the only other place we visited was Frizinghall, I remember saying to Lauren, this seems nice, as we passed the gates to Lister park. Then a few years on to move our home just a few minutes away from St Margaret's and now to discern the Lord's call to join in with what He is doing in Frizinghall is a great sense of God's Providence! Lauren, Ivy and Zeke are very much looking forward to joining you in worship and life together. Please pray for us, as we pray for you!"

"A little about ourselves, Lauren and I are both from Wolverhampton. We moved to Great Horton via training in Durham. We welcomed two children Ivy (4) and Zeke (2) just before moving home to Frizinghall. Since mid 2019 I've been ministering as the associate leader of Fountains Church Bradford, where I will remain part time. I have a great passion for the Bible and thinking 'how can our lives be shaped to be more like Jesus?'."

"Having lived in Frizinghall for the past two years I am very excited to be invited to be the minister of St Margaret's. St Margaret's has a long history of serving the local community, I hope this is further developed, as we seek God's desire for wellbeing and peace in Frizinghall. Recently I was involved in a mural on the side of Fountains Church Bradford, made possible by the Bradford 2025 city of culture bid team, it says, 'Bradford is Beautiful'. This is what I hope for everyone who live in Frizinghall and Bradford, that where some would speak negatively, we would speak a blessing. If you are a person of faith, then please do pray for my family and everyone at St Margaret's, as we begin this new chapter together."
